Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 14, 2026. JurisTrainer LLC (“JurisTrainer,” “we,” “us”) operates the JurisTrainer website, iPhone and iPad app, and related services. This policy describes the information handled by these services, why it is used, and your choices.

Notice at collection

At or before account creation, JurisTrainer LLC collects account identifiers and contact details; study profile information, diagnostic responses, answers, scores, and saved practice activity; billing and subscription identifiers; device reminder choices; and service, security, and diagnostic information. We use these categories to create and secure accounts, provide and save study services, process and verify subscriptions, send requested service messages, and maintain the website and app. We disclose information to service providers described below for those purposes. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Account and study information is kept while needed to provide the account and its progress features and is deleted on a verified request unless retention is needed for legal, security, or billing reasons; transaction records are retained as needed for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, and legal duties; device cache remains until cleared or removed by the device/browser; technical logs follow the relevant provider’s retention practices. Information handled

• Sign-in and account association: Firebase Authentication (including email/password sign-in), Google, or Apple process sign-in identifiers and account details such as provider user ID, name, and email, depending on your provider settings. When you use billing or account progress sync, your Firebase ID token is sent to JurisTrainer’s Netlify Functions to verify your signed-in account. For website checkout, we store your Firebase user ID in private Firestore records with Stripe customer/subscription status, the auto-renewal consent wording, version and timestamp, and an internal random reference. That Firebase user ID is not sent to Stripe; Stripe receives the random reference, checkout/customer/subscription records, and the contact and payment details you enter in Stripe Checkout.
• Study profile and activity: If you sign in, profile details and plan settings, diagnostic responses, answered-question history, scores, free-question usage, saved misses, and active practice progress are associated with your Firebase account and synchronized through authenticated Netlify Functions to private Firebase Firestore records. This lets you continue supported study progress across signed-in website and app sessions. The app and website also keep a device-side cache. If you use guest mode, guest progress remains on that device/browser and is not account-synced. Clearing browser/site data removes the local cache but does not by itself delete account-synced records. You can request deletion as described below.
• Billing: For website purchases, Stripe collects and processes payment information on its hosted Checkout page. JurisTrainer does not receive or store full card numbers. Netlify Functions verify Stripe events and subscriptions and maintain an account-linked membership record in Firebase Firestore. For Apple in-app subscriptions, Apple processes the App Store payment. To link access to your signed-in JurisTrainer account and keep membership status current, our app and server verify Apple-signed transaction data and store the account association, product and transaction identifiers, purchase environment, subscription state, expiration or grace-period dates, revocation status, and notification-processing records in private Firebase Firestore. We do not store payment-card details or the full signed transaction payload. Apple and Stripe publish their own privacy notices and terms.
• Reminder settings: Reminder frequency, selected time, recent practice timestamp, and notification permission are stored on the device. The iOS app can schedule local notifications on the device after you grant permission; iOS may deliver them while the app is closed. The website checks reminders while it is open or when you return. Reminders do not use a JurisTrainer push-notification server.
• Technical information: Netlify, Firebase, Stripe, Google, Apple, and other infrastructure providers may process connection, security, diagnostic, sign-in, and service-operation information when their services are used, under their own terms and privacy notices.

Sign-in SDKs and provider diagnostics

The iOS app includes Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication SDKs. Their privacy manifests declare information processed by those providers, in addition to the account and study information described above. Google Sign-In declares name, email address, phone number, user and device identifiers, approximate location, other usage information, and other data for authentication, fraud prevention, and/or service analytics. Collection depends on the provider and sign-in flow; JurisTrainer does not request phone-number access or precise device location. Google may estimate approximate location from the connection IP address for fraud prevention. Firebase declares authentication identifiers and technical diagnostic information, including device/operating-system and SDK information used to understand platform adoption; that diagnostic information is not linked to your identity. Provider service analytics are distinct from advertising tracking. Our App Store privacy label includes the data categories declared by these SDKs. Account email

When configured, the account welcome-message feature sends a one-time service message to your registered email address through Resend, which processes the recipient address and delivery information. After a successful website subscription checkout, JurisTrainer also submits a retainable subscription acknowledgment for delivery with the amount paid, monthly renewal terms, how to cancel online, support contact, and links to these policies. For welcome messages, we keep the account ID, a hash of the recipient address, and send status. For subscription acknowledgments, we keep the account ID, send status, and provider message ID in private Firestore records to avoid duplicate messages and troubleshoot delivery. A provider acceptance does not guarantee inbox placement or that you read the message. These service messages do not subscribe you to marketing emails. Apple Intelligence Coach

If you use the Coach inside the JurisTrainer iOS app on a compatible device, the question or study goal you submit is processed using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. Assist and Auto do not send their prompts to JurisTrainer’s servers or store them in your account. Manual mode is a separate notebook: when you are signed in, your Manual notes are saved to your private study record and restored across supported app and website sessions. Manual notes are not submitted to Apple Intelligence. You can edit or erase them, and deleting your account deletes these study records. Apple Intelligence must be available and enabled on your device; the Coach is not available in a regular web browser. Avoid including personal, confidential, or real legal-case information in a prompt. Apple’s operating system and device settings govern the availability of Apple Intelligence.

Purposes and sharing

We use account and billing information to authenticate you, create checkout sessions, match Stripe subscription events to the correct JurisTrainer account, determine whether JT Plus is active, operate the cancellation portal, protect the service, and respond to requests. For signed-in users, we use private account-linked study records to save and restore study profiles, diagnostic progress, answer history, free-question usage, active practice progress, and Review items across supported devices. Netlify Functions verify the Firebase sign-in token before reading or updating the record; Firebase Firestore stores it under the authenticated account ID. We do not include advertising tracking or website analytics tags, and we do not sell personal information. Authentication providers may process service analytics and diagnostics as described above. We may disclose information to the providers described above, when you direct a disclosure, to comply with law, or to protect the service and people.

Storage, retention, and security

The device-side study cache remains until you clear it or the browser removes it. Account-synced study records are retained while needed to provide the account and study-history features, and can be deleted on a verified deletion request subject to legal, security, and billing-retention requirements. Firebase retains authentication and private billing-association records while needed to operate the account and subscription; Stripe retains customer, payment, invoice, and subscription records under its policies and legal obligations. We do not store full payment-card numbers. We use server-side verification and access controls for billing records, but no internet service can guarantee perfect security. In the iOS app, open Account → Delete account to verify your identity and permanently remove your sign-in, saved study progress, answers and Review history. Website users may request deletion by emailing the contact below. Minimal billing and transaction associations and a deletion marker are retained for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention and preventing old sessions from restoring deleted data. Deleting an account does not cancel an Apple or Stripe subscription; manage or cancel it with the payment provider to prevent future renewal charges.

Your choices and rights

You can choose whether to sign in, use browser storage, enable reminders, grant notification permission, or open checkout. You can turn reminders off in the profile menu and revoke notification permission in iPhone Settings or your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to opt out of certain uses. California’s CCPA applies only to covered businesses; this policy does not claim that every statutory right applies to every visitor.

Children

JurisTrainer is not directed to children under 13, and account creation requires users to confirm that they are at least 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 and do not currently offer a parental-consent workflow. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact juristrainers@gmail.com; we will review and delete it where appropriate.

International users

Service providers may process information in countries where they or their infrastructure operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your location. Where required, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism.

Policy changes

We will post the current policy here and update its effective date when it changes. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
